ALE were looking for an agency who could add a new lease of life to our existing brand. The current brand had become stilted and did not do justice to a dynamic and fast paced industry leader. Whilst ALE wanted to keep the existing logo, the brief was to perform a complete step stage in the brand and positioning.
indigoRiver’s design capability was evident from the start, however more than this, the passion and dedication to the project was definitely refreshing to see and their investment of time to truly understand our business meant that they were in the best position to develop a new look and feel for ALE.
The heavylift and transportation industry is a niche market and one that requires precision positioning when it comes to marketing and more specifically branding. All of the new material has well and truly exceeded the objectives and expectations set at the start of the project.

Let’s expand on Expandly
Who are they?
Expandly is the fast and cost-effective way for SME’s to sell and manage products online through multiple sales channels such as eBay, Amazon and Etsy.
The cloud-based software platform allows e-retailers to manage their listings, inventory, orders, shipping and reporting of their products easily, and with little fuss.
What was the problem?
Although the business served a number of happy customers, the platform needed to gain a larger slice of the e-commerce market, to help take Expandly’s ambitions to the next level. We were mindful that one of our challenges was minimising the risk of alienating the existing customer base.
With this in mind, the need for a refreshed brand identity that reflected their personality and a new, user-friendly website would help align Expandly’s ambitions with the needs of
e-retailers looking for an inventory management system to support their business goals.
After a full website audit, competitor analysis and a collaborative brand workshop to define Expandly’s personality, values and brand promise, we set to work to create a range of concepts to help bring their vision to life.
We carried out a detailed brand workshop with the client, which clearly distilled the ‘DNA’ of Expandly. This process was key to establish their brand values, positioning in the market, personality, their USP’s and brand promise. We produced a variety of logo marks and strapline options, before the chosen route was determined.
Initially, a full site audit was implemented, to determine what worked well, what didn’t and what could be added to improve the user experience. Once the brand identity was approved, we were able to create detailed wireframes, customer personas, fresh content, a new copy tone and unique illustrations to help bring the brand to life.
With a thorough SEO strategy in place, a series of PPC ads were created. This was based on the way different personas interacted with the web content. Bespoke landing pages were also created to complement the PPC content to ensure relevance, lower bounce rate and increase quality score to achieve higher click-through-rate and conversions.
After a successful redesign of their brand identity and website, we’re looking forward to helping Expandly deliver their next phase of communications.
